Here's a new Classic Cocktail entry to help jump start your Tiki party for the weekend.
This little gem is one that I know I've never heard of before in any bar or restaurant, which I think definitely makes this a true vintage classic!
There are two versions of this cocktail, a light and a dark, both pictured here. The light is made with a white creme de cacao and the other made with dark creme de cacao. This classic dates back to at least the Prohibition and was one of the more popular after dinner drinks. Since it’s so sweet and made with chocolate liqueur, it would also sometimes act as the dessert itself.
1 Maraschino cherry
Pour ingredients carefully, in order given, making sure to pour the brandy over the back of a spoon to prevent mixing. Pousse cafe glass preferred so that ingredients do not mix.
